A new expression of its Pessac-Léognan terroir
Conceived as a satellite cuvée rather than a second wine, Mosaïque de La Garde offers a different interpretation of the estate’s identity, in a style designed for a more spontaneous kind of enjoyment one centred on sharing and convivial moments.
Produced in limited quantities, with 12,000 bottles of red and 3,000 bottles of white, it is available from specialist wine merchants and in restaurants.
Another expression of the terroir
Mosaïque de La Garde 2022 red benefits from the contribution of some of the estate’s finest plots, including Merlot grown on clay-limestone soils, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon from clay-gravel terroirs. After 12 months of ageing, partly in barrels, the wine reveals a full, silky texture, with notes of blackberry and Morello cherry enhanced by a delicate smoky touch.
Mosaïque de La Garde 2025 white brings together Sauvignon Blanc selected from limestone veins and Sémillon. Partly vinified in barrels and then aged for 12 months, it reveals elegant aromas of citrus and white fruits, with lively tension and remarkable freshness.
A mosaic reflecting the vineyard
The name Mosaïque directly echoes one of Château La Garde’s defining characteristics. The estate features 27 different soil and subsoil types, ranging from gravel and clay to limestone, which together shape the richness and complexity of its terroir.
This diversity is also expressed through the label’s visual identity. Geometric shapes come together around the silhouette of the Château, like fragments which, once assembled, convey the diversity of La Garde’s terroirs.
Mosaïque de La Garde thus expresses a vision of the vineyard built on contrasts, complementarity and balance, brought together in a single expression.
