Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac
Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac has successfully united nature, man and machine to earn its place alongside the true elite of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines. This is a refined and elegant wine, with gossamer-light structure. It charms with its harmony, floral and fruity purity of flavour and delicate, well-integrated tannins further to meticulous ageing.
Tasting notes
The nose, complex and fresh, reveals violet, red fruit, and a touch of graphite. The palate is dense and full from the attack, supported by fleshy and silky tannins. The Cabernet Franc lengthens the structure and leads to a long, elegant, and harmonious finish. This 2025 vintage is distinguished by its controlled power, refined balance, and great aromatic expression.
The vintage
Born of a mild, dry winter, the 2025 vintage set up early under favorable conditions. Budbreak occurred at the end of March, followed by rainfalls around Easter, which were beneficial to the vegetative cycle. From May onwards, a warm, dry period took hold. Flowering, early and uniform, unfolded under excellent conditions. From mid-June, a progressive water deficit stimulated polyphenol synthesis and enhanced the wine's structural potential. The hot summer allowed for even ripening, and the rains of late August and early September balanced the wines without dilution. The early and concentrated harvest yielded rich and balanced grapes. Overall, moderate yields contributed to a beautiful concentration. The 2025 vintage is distinguished by its intense fruit character, density, and remarkable balance, resulting in wines that are simultaneously concentrated, fresh, and elegant.
