Chateau Le Boscq
Château Le Boscq is a fine wine from Saint-Estèphe, ideally situated next to the Gironde estuary, Le Boscq elegantly combines the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, with the delicacy of Merlot. The wines are charming, velvet-textured and spicy, enhanced by lovely rich tannins, and well-balanced and refined on the finish.
Tasting notes
The wine is dark with purplish highlights. The nose is rich and precise, blending ripe black fruits, Morello cherry, spices and licorice, with a beautiful aromatic complexity. The palate is ample, fleshy and juicy, driven by generous fruit. The long, dense finish, still slightly tight, reveals notes of cedar and prolongs a beautiful balance between intensity and finesse. A wine of character, distinctive, both structured and elegant.
The vintage
Born after a mild and relatively dry winter, the 2025 vintage developed early under favorable conditions. Budbreak occured as early as March 24th. After a rainy spell around Easter, a warm and dry period settled in from May onwards. Flowering, early and even around May 28th, progressed rapidly and ensured satisfactory fruit set. From mid-June, a progressive water deficit set in. On the clay-gravel soils of our vineyard, these moderate water constraints promoted berry concentration and polyphenol synthesis, indicating strong structural potential. The first half of August, particularly hot, accelerated ripening. The rains at the end of August brought a welcome balance, restarting skin ripening without diluting the concentration. The early harvest, from September 5 to 22, reveals rich and balanced grapes giving birth to a delicate and complex wine, deeply rooted in the identity of Château Le Boscq.
