Chateau Pey La Tour

AOC Bordeaux

Château Pey La Tour reveals its appealing garnet colour and alluring bouquet redolent of ripe red fruits. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc, the wine is supple and remarkably well-balanced, with lingering aromas. Château Pey La Tour certainly reveals all the qualities of great Bordeaux, with abundant harmony even in youth.

Tasting notes

Attractive ruby red colour. The rich bouquet develops notes of fresh red fruits (raspberries and fresh blackberries). Initially round on the palate, the wine reveals a juicy and aromatic palate, underpinned by delicate tannins. The well-balanced wine reveals fruity note and culminates in a savoury and fresh finish.

The vintage

The 2023 winter, cooler than the ten-year average, benefited from good rainfall, replenishing water supplies significantly depleted after a scorching 2022. Bud break and flowering took place under good weather conditions. The constant commitment of our teams helped manage the heavy pressure on the vineyard, imposed by high temperatures and humidity during spring.
After a humid and moderately warm start to the summer, July was dry, and temperatures rose significantly in a month of August marked by two short heatwaves. The beautiful summer weather proved very favorable for rapid and even veraison, accelerating the ripening of berries and seeds. The harvest began early, in mid-September. These favorable conditions allowed for a staggered harvest and precise plot-by-plot management, for this vintage with excellent quality potential.
