Chateau Rahoul White

AOC Graves

Château Rahoul is one of only a handful of Graves wines to belong to the highly selective Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. On the palate, this Graves white wine offers complex flavours of white peaches, limeflower and citrus, freshness and depth. This is an ageworthy wine, and all the more elegant if enhanced by several years ageing.

Tasting notes

Fairly deep, light yellow colour. The nose opens with complex notes of citrus, white peach and verbena. The wines offering an enveloping mouthfeel from the attack, is round, full, fleshy, on the palate. The tasting ends with a lovely freshness well-balanced by a lingering fruity expression on the long finish.

The vintage

Winter is marked by rainfalls well above the thirty-year average and particularly mild temperatures, favoring an early and very even bud burst. The quite cool and rainy Spring slows down the vegetative cycle. Limited due to the cool temperatures, the sanitary pressure remains under control, thanks to the painstainking care of our team.Rather late, flowering takes place under overall good conditions.
Temperatures finally rise in summer. The thermal amplitude of the second half of August favours the synthesis of aromas and polyphenols. Accelerated by rainfalls at the end of the month, veraison is very even. At the beginning of September, the qualitative potential is already very encouraging. The maturity is homogeneous, the tasting of the berries shows very aromatic grapes, present and elegant tannins and a beautiful balance between sugars and acidity, suggesting a harmonious and fruity vintage.

Château Rahoul is one of only a handful of Graves wines to belong to the highly selective Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. The chateau produces alluring, distinctive wines, with juicy, dark fruit flavours and delicate tannins. It expresses all the fruit character and elegance of Merlot, enhanced by the complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
L’Orangerie de Rahoul is the perfect introduction to Château Rahoul’s fine wine. It pays tribute to the wealth of terroirs where it finds its home, and which make this Graves wine stand apart from all the rest. It takes its name from Château Rahoul’s magnificent orangery and is a nod to its rich past.
