Héritage de Le Boscq

AOC Saint-Estèphe

Héritage de Le Boscq is the château’s second wine. Just like the fine wine, it draws all the benefits of an outstanding terroir, a meticulous viticultural regime and exemplary winemaking facilities, guaranteed to preserve all the character of the different wines. This is a fruity, supple wine, with delicate tannins and expressing all the qualities of its terroir. Also ready for immediate drinking.

Tasting notes

Deep purple with bluish hints. On the nose delicious aromas of Morello cherry evolve into notes of wild berries. Rich, dense, and full-bodied on the palate, the wine is backed by fine, subtle tannins that blend with aromas of toasted almonds and delicate oaky hint. The style of this balanced and mouthwatering wine reveals the character of the clayey soils of the Saint-Estèphe appellation’s northen part.

The vintage

Winter is characterized by rainfalls well above the thirty-year average and particularly mild temperatures, favoring an early and very even bud burst. The quite cool and rainy Spring slows down the vegetative cycle. Limited due to the cool temperatures, the sanitary pressure remains under control, thanks to the painstainking care of our team. Rather belated, flowering takes place under overall good conditions.
Temperatures finally rise in summer. The thermal amplitude of the second half of August favours the synthesis of aromas and polyphenols. Accelerated by rainfalls at the end of the month, veraison is very even. At the beginning of September, the qualitative potential is already very encouraging. The maturity is homogeneous, the tasting of the berries shows very aromatic grapes, present and elegant tannins and a beautiful balance between sugars and acidity, suggesting a harmonious and fruity vintage.

Château Le Boscq is a fine wine from Saint-Estèphe, and classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. Ideally situated next to the Gironde estuary, Le Boscq elegantly combines the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, with the delicacy of Merlot. The wines are charming, velvet-textured and spicy, enhanced by lovely rich tannins, and well-balanced and refined on the finish.
